Cotswold Micro dissection needles
These specialist electrodes can give similar effects to cutting with a laser, without the costs associated, and further pose the benefit that they are also extremely effective in ‘coag’ mode ! The ultra fine tip means that they are extremely efficient at low power settings. Minimizing nerve and muscle cell stimulation, tissue necrosis and scarring. And further greatly reducing post operative pain.
Clinical benefits:
Thermal tissue injury is virtually eliminated , allowing for excellent healing results.
Output power settings are very low, minimising nerve and muscle cell stimulation and stray electrosurgical currents.
Tungsten electrode withstands high current densities, and maintains sharpness throughout the procedure.
Substantially reduces smoke plume and odour compared to standard tips
The Cotswold Needles range is ideal for soft/ delicate tissue dissection including ENT, plastics, reconstructive surgery, foot and hand surgery, dermatology, breast surgery, neuro and any other surgery with soft, delicate tissue. See catalogue for recommended procedures where this range has proven to be beneficial over conventional methods.

Exceptionally fine rigid needles for precise monopolar dissection
Designed for use with virtually all electrosurgery generators and the majority of electrosurgery handles / fingerswitches, the Cotswold range of monopolar micro-dissection needles offers the surgeon the ability to direct the power from the electrosurgery generator to an area
(typically 3 micron) at the needle tip.
With such a small and focussed point, the amount of power required to create a surgical effect is dramatically reduced as the electrosurgery current is concentrated to the smaller size – this reduction minimises the heat produced and hence the thermal energy spread.
only low wattages of electrosurgery power required
reduced tissue necrosis - less scarring
precise electrosurgery effect
reduced smoke
faster healing
Traditionally produced “sharp” electrosurgery needles become blunt very quickly during a procedure due to the stainless steel “melting”, particularly with such a fine point. The Cotswold needles are produced in rigid, high temperature pure tungsten which has a melt temperature of 3400ºC, significantly higher than those temperatures used in electrosurgery

The majority of surgeons operating with the Cotswold needle
select the shortest needle useful in the specific
procedure; this enables a greater accuracy and control to be achieved.
